Aquarist Notes

Collection Point:   Unknown

Genetic Line:   Aquarium Strain

Year Acquired:   2024

Acquired six juveniles (four female and two male) from Mike Liu at ACA 2024. They are separated into three tanks - one female and one male in a 40g breeder, one male and two females in a 20g long, and a lone female in another 40g breeder that is heavily planted. I am waiting on a pair to form in the 20g long, at which point I will move the rejected female. The lone female in the planted take has a mouth deformation, so I don't want her to breed. UPDATE: The pair in the 40 breeder spawned, and I noticed the fry today 3/4/25!

Species Spawned:   Yes

Provided the pair with several cave options. The tank is bare bottom, which enabled me to spot the fry quickly. I estimate there are at least 30. They are free swimming but staying on the bottom near a round, ceramic cave. There are two such caves in the tank, and the female has used them both.

Have Reared Fry?   Yes

Will update if I can keep them alive.
